About The Meyers/Jones/Dean/Wilser Family
This site has been established to archive and share geneology of the Meyers, Dean, Jones and Wilser families.

The Wilser lines has been documented to 1585. The Jones line has documented lineage to 1863 in Dutchess County, New York. Recent research suggests the family of Milton Jones moved frequently within New York State. The common last name, but regular use of first and middle names, has made this line tricky to verify at times.

The Meyers line has been traced to 1890, with definitive documentation only to 1930. The Dean line is not a focus of this researcher, but is included for completeness of the Jones/Meyers family history.

Walt Wilser, one of our cousins has contributed all of the information from the Wilser side, of which our first direct relation is Emma Wilser (Jones). In the late 1990's he completed a full geneological research of the Wilsers, verifying (in person) all documents and locations. .

Field visits have been made to all known gravesites, with the latest being the location of Edgar M.Jones (d. 1934) in Dover Plains, New York.

The Meyers line is now more complete following the death of Ardis L. Meyers in Georgia, May 2010. This line is fascinating, as it has revealed an interesting, bizarre and in some cases heart breaking stories. We are grateful to Daniel Meyers and Chrissy Bentley for their contributions to this site.

The Dean line has grown a bit, but is not a priority of this researcher or site. The passing of Robert Deans second wife (Ada Garrison) gave us the names of three new half siblings and several new cousins to Robert J Meyers and his children.

The Godman branch has been researched outside of this site, but those records are not currently available to this site. The Oduber Family is unworked other than from basic information available.

The next project for this site will be the uploading of photos. If you have any information or questions about any of the families or lines on this site, please contact the administrator.
